Our Philosophy
We strive to provide superior dental care to kids, from infancy through adolescence, including children with special needs. Our excellent care enables each patient to achieve and maintain optimal oral health for a lifetime.
We believe every child is precious and treat each patient as if they were our own.
In providing pediatric dental care for your child, our goal is to create a warm, comfortable environment in which your child will understand the importance of practicing good dental hygiene habits, and put these habits into action from the start. In order to achieve this, we are dedicated to:
- Eliminating the fear most kids associate with dental care by providing care to your child in a fun, relaxed and non-intimidating way.
- Provide each patient and their parent with dental hygiene information. Parents should be able to help their child practice preventive dental care skills to ensure healthy teeth now and in the future.
- Provide gentle dental treatment to infants, children, teens and those with special needs.
How are appointments scheduled?
We try our best to accommodate our patients as much as possible when scheduling appointments. We have found that children with extensive dental work or preschool children are better to be seen early in the morning when they are fresher and can have a more positive experience. Some appointments may require the child to miss some school; however, these are considered excused absences. With continued care, appointments during school can be kept to a minimum.
Because we exclusively reserve your child’s appointment time, we request 24-hours notice if your child is unable to keep that appointment. Advanced notice enables us to schedule another patient in need of care. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, but we ask for your help as a courtesy to all of our patients. Please call 703-221-4040 to schedule an appointment.
Can I stay with my child during their visit?
You are welcome to stay with your child during their initial exam. However, at future appointments, we encourage you to allow a member of our staff to accompany your child. We can typically establish a closer bond with your child when you are not present. We make this suggestion so that we can gain your child’s confidence, and help them overcome anxiety. However, you are welcome to join your child in the treatment room at each appointment. We ask that any child not being treated remain in the waiting area with an adult.
