Rhea Davis, DDS
Dr. Davis grew up in Vienna, VA and graduated from George C. Marshall High School in 1993. She attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate studies, where she majored in English and minored in Biology. In 2002 she graduated magna cum laude from the school of dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Davis continued on in Richmond to complete her pediatric dentistry residency.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.
Dr. Davis and her husband Marcus have four children, twin boys, Benjamin and Joshua, and two girls Madison and Emory. When Dr. Davis is not taking her children to soccer, dance, swim, or school activities, she enjoys peace and quiet. Other hobbies include supporting Redskins Football, traveling, and quiet dinners with her husband.
Arshia Shingler, DDS
Dr. Shingler grew up in Prince William County and is delighted to return and provide care for the children of this community. She attended George Mason University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree and her Specialty Degree in Pediatric Dentistry from Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University's, School of Dentistry.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.
Dr. Shingler and her husband Scott decided to live in Haymarket to be able to better assess the needs of the community, and now she takes pleasure in seeing her patients in local restaurants, grocery stores and even her neighborhood. She enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and golf lessons from her husband. They stay busy with their three children Aava, Luke and Blake.
My Tran, DDS
Dr. My Tran is ecstatic to be working in the Prince William County and meeting the community. She is eager and ready to fight cavities one patient at a time.
Dr. Tran grew up in Annandale, Virginia and attended the University of Virginia where she received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Once she found her calling, she pursued a degree in dentistry from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry with honors. At VCU, she was involved in the Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, and was President of Delta Sigma Delta, a service fraternity, all of which was not only personally rewarding, but led to multiple leadership awards.
Dr. Tran completed her training at New York University College of Dentistry where she was the Chief Resident of pediatric dentistry. While in residency, Dr. Tran spent time at the NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiners working on her research and training Medical Examiners on a new dental forensic protocol. She was even able to work on a 5,000 year old mummy tooth! Her research entitled “DNA Isolation from Forensic Dental Specimens” won an award for Outstanding Research during the Research Day Competition at NYU. In addition, it was presented at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Annual meeting and was presented at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences annual meeting.
Dr. Tran continues to find a balance with work and helping the underserved population. She has had the joy of volunteering in places as close as southwest Virginia and as far as the Indian Health Services in Alaska and the Jamaica Project. She anticipates continuing to join these dental missions.
During her free time, Dr. Tran and her husband, Jason, enjoy playing scrabble and ping pong. They also dream of conquering all the mountain ranges and oceans of the world with their snowboards and snorkels.
Shwetha Rai, DDS
Dr. Shwetha Rai hails from India, was born in Germany, grew up in Saudi Arabia and came to the United States to attend high school at the Madeira School in McLean, Virginia. After her travels she is happy to settle in Virginia with her husband and join the Potomac Pediatric Dentistry group.
Dr. Rai attended James Madison University where she recieved her Bachelors and then a Masters degree in Health Science. Dr. Rai then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Virginia Commonwealth University cum laude, and practiced general dentistry before pursuing a specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry.
At VCU Dr. Rai was able to volunteer at the Mission of Mercy projects, the Special Olymics, and Give Kids a Smile. Dr. Rai continued providing care to the undeserved with NYU at the Special Olympics, in upstate New York, Maine, and Alaska.
Dr. Rai is an active member of the American Academy of Dentistry, the American Pediatric Dental Association, and the Virginia Dental Association.
Dr. Rai and her husband share a love of cooking together and travel. They are so happy to have friends and family around the country and the world.
